Alright – so today we’ve got the honor of introducing you to DeVonte’ “Deeor” Harris. We think you’ll enjoy our conversation, we’ve shared it below.
DeVonte’ “Deeor”, thanks for taking the time to share your stories with us today Let’s start with the story of your mission. What should we know?
Growing up you realize just how important your childhood was key to the growth of your teen years and then your teen years key to your adulthood growth. You realize just how important love was from your family or having a role model to help push you through your tough times. B.o.R is a much more than a fashion or music brand. It is a lifestyle. B.o.R symbolizes the Beginning of Revolution! When people think of B.o.R, we want them to think of love, trust, togetherness, spiritual growth, hope, faith, and light! The mission for B.o.R is not only to inspire the next generation, but let the next generation know that the spirit they carry within is the most important product of life. You can’t put a price on Spirit, love, or wisdom so don’t cast your pearls in front of swines. The more we inspire, the more we give, the more we teach, then the more that this world will lean on each other or have that “hero” or role model to help them through dark times. B.o.R will bring a much needed fire to people’s spirits. Through B.o.R, we want to create not only clothing, music, and films for the world, but have an inspiring message behind them. The kids are the future and B.o.R’s mission is to make sure they have the resources and truthful teachings they need to take on the world! We want everybody to grow into a fruitful tree that can help feed the world.
DeVonte’ “Deeor”, before we move on to more of these sorts of questions, can you take some time to bring our readers up to speed on you and what you do?
B.o.R(By DeVonte’ Harris) is a creative brand compiled of fashion, music, styling, film, and creative direction. B.o.R or (Beginning of Revolution) was founded in 2016 mostly on clothing and music, but the expansion of the brand has continuously grown over the years. Rado, who I’ve known since i was 10, and I created this brand back in our college apartment over 7 years ago! Struggling to find out our true passion of life, we decided no matter what we did the end goal was to inspire! I have always been a huge fan of fashion, wearing designer clothes growing up and always analyzing old Dior, Versace, and Yohji shows and their craft as I got older. Knowing how much it inspired me, I knew I wanted to inspire another kid in the same way or even greater. B.o.R brings a variety of color and passion to a much needed world. Our clothing is always filled with bright colors fit for men, women, and kids. Rado’s music is continuously painting vivid pictures for any age. We bring originality, life, and vision to this industry, but more importantly to the world! Moving into the future, we plan on expanding our fashion collections to runways across the world, music to reach ears across the world, and visuals to reach eyes across the world. We are here to be a light to a dark world!
What’s the most rewarding aspect of being a creative in your experience?
The most rewarding aspect of being an artist/creative is to be able to tell your life story how you want. You can paint the TRUTH in your own eyes. Whether it be through colors, photos, clothes, music, etc. being able to have a story and people actually listen is beautiful. To be able to have people look up to you or look at you as an important role model in this world is such a special thing. Being an artist/creative it is important to know that the goal should be to inspire the next generation. Money shouldn’t be a main focus or #1 goal of yours because I believe it will always come if you just follow your heart, stay true, and live in love. Love overcomes all. The real money is being able to know you have touched many people’s hearts and you have given their spirits much needed hope across the world!
Can you tell us about what’s worked well for you in terms of growing your clientele?
Some of our effective ways of growing clientele is to be consistent and trustworthy. Taking everything we do serious to us is very important. Aside from delivering quality garments and music, people love to see how much care we put into our craft. We want each and every individual to know that anything crafted under B.o.R is made with love and patience. We take a numerous amount of time in every detail all the way down to the tags! We want our clientele to feel loved, to know we care, and to know that we value any time they take out for us out of their busy schedules. Our clientele continues to grow through word of mouth and content on social media, but we like to take time to get to know each and every person who supports the brand. Also being consistent with putting quality content out each and every year always builds buzz as well. We have ideas for many years to come and we hope through each idea our base continues to grow tremendously.
